Apple Tavria

The Tavria apple variety is a late-winter variety bred in Crimea from the free pollination of the Renet Champagne variety. The tree is of medium height with a flat-round crown and mixed fruiting type. Blossoming occurs in medium-late terms, and the flowers possess resistance to spring frosts, ensuring reliable crop formation. The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, as well as resistance to fungal diseases, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions, including southern Russia and Crimea. The fruits of the Tavria variety have an oval-conical shape with a wide base and a weight ranging from 165 to 210 grams. The flesh is creamy, dense, of medium juiciness, with a pleasant sour-sweet taste. Apples have good transportability and storability, allowing them to be stored in a refrigerator for up to 240–250 days. Characteristic taste and aroma are achieved during the storage process, which is typical for winter varieties. The fruits contain approximately 10.3% sugars and 0.4% acids, with a sugar-to-acid ratio of 25.8, ensuring a harmonious taste. The Tavria variety is characterized by high yield and early fruiting, making it attractive for commercial cultivation. Yield on the EM.IX rootstock can reach up to 43 tons per hectare. The apple tree is well adapted to various growing conditions and is suitable for regions with a variable climate. Due to its qualities and resistance, the Tavria variety is a promising choice for gardeners seeking a stable and high-quality winter apple crop.
