TELLISAARE

The Tellisaare apple variety is a winter-hardy variety of folk selection of Estonian origin, intended for growing in northern regions, including the Baltic states, southern regions of Belarus, and the northwestern part of Russia. The tree is of medium height with a conical or rounded crown, reaching up to 10 meters in height. Leaves are elliptical or oblong-ovate, while flowers are white, pink, or crimson, gathered in umbel-like inflorescences. The apple tree is light-loving and prefers fertile, fresh soils.

The fruits of the Tellisaare variety are medium-sized, lemon-yellow in color, juicy and aromatic with a sour-sweet taste. Apples ripen at the end of September, reach consumer maturity by the end of October, and can be stored until February or even May, ensuring a long storage period. Yield is high, although it may be periodic, and fruiting begins in the 4-5th year after planting.

The variety is characterized by high resistance to scab and rot, which reduces the need for frequent treatments against fungal diseases. Frost resistance of Tellisaare is moderate, so when growing in the middle belt, climatic conditions should be taken into account. Thanks to good storability and taste qualities, apples of this variety are popular for winter consumption.
