Summer variety, obtained at the Rossoshanskaya Zonalnaya Opytnaya Station for Horticulture by M. M. Ulyanishchev from sowing seeds of Belfler-Chinese self-pollinating.
Currently, it is poorly distributed, mainly in gardens of Voronezh Oblast.
Trees are medium-sized, sometimes larger, with spherical crowns of moderate density and medium branching. Bark of the trunk is gray-brown, and of skeletal branches — greenish-gray, arranged in a slanted-vertical manner. Lenticels are sessile and located on 2-3-year-old wood.
Shoots are dark gray, slightly curved, of medium length and thickness, round, with short internodes. Number of shoots on two-year-old wood is small. Summer shoots are absent. Pubescence of shoots is moderate. Buds are in moderate quantity, small, on the surface level. Buds are pressed, conical, brown.
Leaves are large, broad, round, green, with serrated margins. Blade is folded upward, slightly curved along the central vein, edges slightly wavy. Texture is leathery, surface matte. Pubescence is weak. Petiole is of medium length and thickness, detaches at an acute angle.
Inflorescence — compound umbel with 5 flowers. Buds are white-pink, flowers are of medium size, white, flat, occasionally double. Stigmas are pubescent, stigma at the level of stamens. Pedicel is medium.
Fruits are above-average or average size, one-dimensional, slightly flattened round-conical shape, equilateral, with smooth surface. At maturity, main color is greenish-yellow, covering — as a blurred, medium-intensity pink-red blush covering the entire fruit surface. Subcutaneous points are rare, barely noticeable. Skin is smooth, slightly glossy. Rust only occurs on the pedicel, delicate. Pedicel is short, medium thickness. Cup and dish are medium. Calyx is closed. Subcalyx tube is medium, funnel-shaped. Central cavity is absent, chambers are closed.
Flesh is creamy, sweet-sour, with weak aroma, medium juiciness, medium firmness, fine-grained. Appearance is attractive, taste ranges from good to excellent. Chemical composition of fruits: dry matter — 13.6%, sugars — 11.3%, titratable acidity — 0.6%, ascorbic acid — 12.6 mg/100g.
In Voronezh Oblast, fruit ripeness occurs in the third decade of August, fruits are stored for about a month, under artificial cooling — two months. Fresh fruit quality and transportability are high.
Enters fruiting period early — on the 5th-6th year after grafting in nurseries. High yield: average over several years — 84 kg per tree or 250 centners per hectare. Fruit production is regular.
Cold resistance is high, no notable frost damage has been observed during the variety's existence. During spring frosts down to -3...4°C, complete flower death occurred. Affected by scab in weak degree during epidemic years.
Advantages of the variety: high ecological adaptability, tree yield, fruit quality.
