Late autumn variety selected at the Rossoshanskaya Zonal Agricultural Experimental Station. Obtained by crossing Kandil-Chin and Welles. Breeders: M. M. Ulyanich, A. N. Polyakov, T. M. Mamaeva, O. I. Kolodiy. Low distribution: in gardens of the experimental station and several fruit farms in southern Central Chernozem. Approved by GSI in 1995.
Tree is low-growing, dwarf, reaching 2.5 m in height and 3x2.5 m in width at 16 years old. Crown shape is oval in young trees, rounded in fruiting trees, medium density. Branches show bareness. Bark of trunk and branches is gray-brown. Skeleton branch placement is oblique-vertical. Low shoot productivity.
Shoots are straight, short, medium thickness. Fruit set is mixed, including terminal buds of 1-year-old shoots.
Leaves are medium-sized, dark green, elongated-oval, leathery, with wavy edges, non-hairy, glossy, folded upward, curved along the midrib. Petioles are medium length and thickness. Toothed margin is coarse-toothed, apex slightly twisted. Buds are triangular, pressed, slightly hairy.
Inflorescence — umbel with 4-5 flowers. Blooms late. Bud is dark pink, flower is light pink, shallow-bowl-shaped, slightly double, medium size, petals closed; stigmas hairy, stigmas at the level of stamens; flower stalks medium length. Flowering period — late, one week later than the control variety Rossoshanskoe Pолосatoye.
Fruits are medium (130 g) and above-medium (210 g) size, medium uniformity, cylindrical, surface smooth, even relief. Skin thin. Main color in consumer maturity is whitish, covering color — medium intensity, blurred-striped, light-red. Skin smooth, slightly glossy. Peduncle medium length, straight, calyx medium depth. Calyx open, plate deep, narrow, smooth. Subcalyx tube usually funnel-shaped, central cavity small. Seed cavity medium. Seeds medium size, elongated, light-brown.
Flesh is whitish-green, slightly acidic-sweet with mild aroma, very juicy, medium firmness, fine-grained. Fruit appearance attractive (4.3 points), taste excellent (4.5 points). Chemical composition of fruits: dry matter — 13.9%, sugars — 10.6%, titratable acids — 0.72%, pectin — 0.63%, ascorbic acid — 7.6 mg/100g.
Fruit ripening period — autumn with long storage life, sometimes until March. Before harvest, moderate fruit drop may occur. Maximum storage life — 180 days. Transportability and marketability of fruits are medium. For culinary use — dessert variety.
High yield, comparable to Rossoshanskoe Pолосatoye. High winter hardiness. No frost damage observed at -32ºC in 1994. Spring frost on May 7, 1999, at the beginning of flowering stage, destroyed 100% of flowers, no yield. In 1993 epiphytotic season, the variety showed moderate resistance to scab.
Advantages of the variety: low growth, ecological adaptability, high yield and fruit quality, long storage life, possibility of denser planting.
