Apple RED VAN

Reliable winter harvest: why choose «Red Van»

For professional orchardists and private landowners, selecting an apple variety is about finding the right balance between winter hardiness and commercial appeal. The «Red Van» variety from the Russian producer Ao Sad-gigant is a solution designed for those who prioritize classic aesthetics and predictable crop performance.

Key features of the variety

• Appearance and Size: The fruits have an attractive elongated-round-conical shape. With a weight of 150–200 grams, they are perfectly sized for both fresh consumption and retail markets. A rich, dark red blush makes the apples stand out on shelves, giving them a premium appearance.
• Agrotechnics: The medium-sized tree with a rounded crown is easy to manage, reducing the labor and costs associated with pruning and canopy maintenance.
• Storage: A storage life of 3–4 months allows for extended sales after the harvest season, which is crucial for the winter apple segment.

Strengths and Considerations

The main advantage of «Red Van» is its robust winter hardiness. Developed by Ao Sad-gigant, the variety is adapted to harsh climatic conditions and capable of surviving tough winters, making it ideal for regions with unstable temperatures. The white, juicy flesh offers a balanced flavor profile characteristic of high-quality winter apples.

A point for growers to consider is the moderate storage duration. While 3–4 months is a respectable performance for this class, «Red Van» is intended for autumn and winter distribution rather than long-term summer storage. Therefore, it is optimal for orchards focused on immediate market turnover during the harvest and early winter months.

This variety serves as a reliable asset for any farm where tree resilience and high-quality fruit appearance are valued. «Red Van» by Ao Sad-gigant is a solid choice, offering proven classic qualities without the need for unnecessary experimentation.
