The Interprice apple variety is a late-winter American selection that is characterized by high frost resistance and immunity to scab due to the presence of the Vf gene. The tree is of medium height, reaching a height of 2.5 to 3.5 meters, with a compact, rounded crown of medium density, which facilitates shaping and care. The variety begins fruiting in the 3rd-4th year and is characterized by high yield. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to choose sunny, open areas with fertile, loamy soils and moderate irrigation. The fruits of the Interprice variety are large, weighing from 160 to 250 grams, in a round or slightly flattened shape. The skin of the fruits has a yellow-green base with a bright, blurred dark red or burgundy blush that covers most of the surface. At harvest, the apples do not fall off, have high transportability and commercial quality, which exceeds 90%. The flesh is light cream, fine-grained, juicy, crisp, with a pleasant sweet-and-sour taste and a light spicy astringency. The fruits ripen at the end of September – beginning of October and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to six months, maintaining their taste qualities. The variety is resistant to the main diseases of the apple tree, especially to scab, but is susceptible to powdery mildew and bacterial burn. To increase yield and fruit quality, it is recommended to use Golden Delicious, Golden Resistant, Williams Pride, and McIntosh varieties as pollinators. Thanks to its characteristics and immunity, Interprice is a promising variety for cultivation in various climatic conditions, ensuring a stable and quality harvest.
