CARPOV'S RENET

CarpoV's Renet is an apple variety resulting from the cross of WELSH and MACINTOSH varieties, bred under the leadership of G.K. KarpoV and other breeders. The tree is large with an elongated oval crown of medium density, although some sources note medium growth and a more rounded crown. Fruiting begins in the fifth to sixth year and is concentrated on simple and compound ringlets, as well as spearheads. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Central and Central-Black Earth regions, and is also suitable for southern regions of Russia.

The fruits of the CarpoV's Renet variety are large, weighing on average from 160 to 190 grams, of regular round shape with a smooth surface. The color of the apples is red with a violet tint and discontinuous stripes, the flesh is white or cream, fine-grained, juicy, sour-sweet with a delicate aroma. Maturation dates are medium, and the fruits store well at temperatures from 0 to +4°C, maintaining freshness until March. Yield is high, making the variety attractive for commercial cultivation.

The variety has good winter hardiness and medium resistance to scab, which requires certain attention to plant protection. Among the disadvantages, a tendency to crown thickening is noted, which requires regular pruning to maintain tree health and crop quality. In general, CarpoV's Renet is valued for its high yield, fruit shelf-life, and pleasant taste, making it a popular choice for gardeners.
