Katyry grape variety represents a winter-hardy and moisture-loving form of grape bred by breeder R.F. Sharov. Bushes are medium-sized, about one meter high, with dark green glossy leaves of pentagonal shape and three-lobed structure. Flowers are bisexual, which contributes to good pollination and stable fruiting. The period from bud break to full berry ripeness is about 119 days, allowing harvest at the beginning of September. Bunches are medium-sized, conical in shape, loose and medium density, weighing from 142 to 280 grams. Berries are medium-sized, dark blue or black with a characteristic waxy bloom, slightly oval. Flesh is juicy with a sweet and sour taste and a herbaceous note, giving the grape a distinctive and harmonious taste. Sugar content in berries varies from 14.7% to 17.3%, acidity is 0.7-0.9%, and vitamin C reaches 13.7-14.9 mg per 100 grams of product. Yield per bush ranges from 2.4 to 8 kilograms, while fruits can hang on the vine for a long time, practically not damaged by pests and diseases. The Katyry variety is distinguished by high frost resistance and resistance to diseases, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions. Moisture-lovingness of the plant requires regular watering to achieve maximum yield. The main disadvantage of the variety is the thick skin of the berries, which should be taken into account when using the fruits. The grape is universal in application, suitable both for fresh consumption and for processing, making it a valuable addition to fruit gardens.
