Description

Grape variety Aleshchenkin Dar, bred in 1956 by P.E. Tsehmistrenko in Volgograd, is a popular table variety valued for its high yield, cold hardiness, and harmonious taste. Berries of this variety have a light green amber hue with a matte pruinose bloom, oval or weakly oval shape, and weigh about 4-6 grams. The flesh is juicy, crisp, and meaty, with practically no seeds (1-2 seeds), making the grape convenient for fresh consumption. Sugar content reaches 200 g/dm³ at acidity of 3-5 g/dm³, ensuring a pleasant balanced taste without musky notes.

The variety is characterized by a very early maturation period—about 110-118 days, which allows harvesting the crop in a short time. Grape clusters have a conical shape of medium density and weigh about 500 grams. Plants are vigorous, with bisexual flowers, require crop regulation and winter covering to preserve cold hardiness up to -26 °C. Despite good adaptation to various climatic conditions, the variety has low resistance to fungal diseases, so it requires regular preventive treatments.

Aleshchenkin Dar is characterized by high yield—up to 8-10 kg per bush and up to 25 kg per plant—as well as good transportability and the ability to maintain taste and appearance for up to a month when stored in a dry and cool place. This grape is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for making juices, compotes, and jams, but is not recommended for winemaking due to the lack of characteristic wine aromas.
