Celesta

The Celesta apple is a late-summer variety with high early fruiting and yield, reaching a height of 3-5 meters. The tree is characterized by a wide pyramidal crown of medium density and matte dark green leaves. Blooming occurs in April-May, with large pinkish-white flowers. The tree begins bearing fruit as early as two to three years after planting, indicating the high productivity of the variety.

Celesta apple fruits are large, round or slightly elongated, with bright coloring — greenish-yellow with a red-orange striped blush. The skin is thin, with a slight waxy coating, while the flesh is yellowish, juicy, crisp, and aromatic. The taste of the fruits is characterized by pleasant sweetness without pronounced acidity, making them particularly attractive. The mass of apples can reach up to 190 grams, and up to 120 kg of yield can be harvested from a single tree. Harvest maturity occurs at the end of August, at which time the fruits ripen unevenly.

The variety is characterized by good winter hardiness, withstands frosts down to -40 °C, as well as medium resistance to scab and powdery mildew. Apples have excellent storage and transportability properties, can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two months. Thanks to their taste qualities and reliability, the Celesta apple is an epitome among late-summer varieties.
