For the substrate, a highly porous and inorganic mix is essential. Most professional growers utilize a blend of pumice, coarse sand, and a minimal amount of organic matter to ensure rapid drainage.

To mitigate these threats, maintain a rigorous inspection schedule. Monitoring the base of the plant for any signs of softening is a crucial practice for any serious grower.
