Originator — Institute of Plant Production named after V. Ya. Yuryev, NAAN.
Variety characteristics. Variety — Nutans (nutans). Low-growing, plant height 66 — 82 cm. Anthocyanin coloration of leaf tips weak, long and saw-toothed awns. Two-rowed ear, with strong waxy coating, cylindrical, loose (11.8 nodes per 4 cm), medium length. Sterile spikelet occupies position from parallel to slightly deviated. Flower scales finely wrinkled, with weak venation, gradually transitioning into awn. Grain ellipsoidal, yellow, glabrous. Main awn long-hairy. 1000-grain mass 49 — 52 g, density 702 g/l.
Biological characteristics. Maturity group — mid-season, vegetation period 82 — 93 days. Resistant to lodging (8.7 — 8.9 points), drought (8.4 — 8.9 points). The variety is a source of group resistance to infection by powdery mildew (7 points) and rust (8 — 9 points).
Agronomic characteristics. Intensive type variety. Recommended seeding rate 4.0 — 4.5 million viable seeds per hectare. Standard agronomic practices for the growing zone, early sowing.
In production conditions, yield reached 4.80 t/ha (Kupiansk DSCS) and 5.97 t/ha (Volchansk DSCS, Kharkiv Oblast). Potential yield 8.5 — 9.0 t/ha. Protein content in grain 12.7 — 15.0%, grain uniformity — 91.7%. Percentage of conditioned seeds 75 — 85%.
