SMERALDA

The Smeralda apple tree is an Italian selection, representing a medium-sized tree with a compact crown and short branches. The tree is easy to shape and begins fruiting early, providing a high and stable yield annually without periodicity. This variety is resistant to major pests and tolerant to scab, significantly simplifying care and increasing cultivation reliability.

Smeralda apples are medium to large in size, slightly flattened-round in shape, with smooth, firm, shiny light-green skin marked by barely visible pink spots and lenticels. The weight of the apples is approximately 200-250 grams. The flesh is dense, crisp, juicy, with a white-yellow hue and a refreshing flavor reminiscent of Granny Smith, but with higher sugar content and a more pronounced aroma.

Apples ripen at the end of September, about a month before Granny Smith. The fruits maintain good storage quality for up to six months in a refrigerator and up to three months in a cellar, with high marketability and good transportability. Due to its winter hardiness and disease resistance, the Smeralda variety is suitable for cultivation in various regions, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield.
