Wheat Zluka

Stability and Yield Potential of «Zluka» Winter Wheat

«Zluka», a soft winter wheat variety developed by the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the NAS of Ukraine, is recognized as a benchmark for intensive farming systems. Its primary strength lies in the successful balance between high productivity and adaptability to varying growth conditions, making it a reliable asset for modern agronomists.

Agronomic Potential and Features

Under optimal growing conditions, «Zluka» can reach a yield potential of 11–12 tons per hectare, positioning it alongside top European wheat varieties. The key to this performance is the plant's capacity to develop a dense canopy, with an optimal density of 5.5–6.0 million productive stems per hectare. Despite a plant height of 90–100 cm, the variety exhibits excellent resistance to lodging, facilitating efficient harvesting even in high-yielding years.

• Phytosanitary Robustness: The genetic resistance to brown rust and powdery mildew significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, thereby lowering the total cost of production per ton.
• Seed Characteristics: With a thousand-kernel weight of 35–40 grams, the variety ensures vigorous sprouting and uniform seedling emergence.

Who is this variety for?

«Zluka» is the ideal choice for farming enterprises employing intensive crop management practices. While the variety is highly responsive to mineral fertilization, it rewards the investment with exceptional yields. Given its superior resistance to key diseases, it fits perfectly into rotations where managing pathogen pressure is a priority. This variety offers the optimal balance between cost-effective protection and maximum output per hectare of land.
