Yunika

Wheat «Yunika» – a universal variety with enhanced resistance to low agro-conditions and a wide range of applicability throughout Ukraine. The variety is characterized by high productive tillering (720–820 stems per 1 m²), large ears and large grains, which ensure a genetic yield potential within 11.5–12.5 t/ha. Under real field conditions, a maximum yield of about 113.9 t/ha is achieved (recorded in 2018). The variety belongs to the medium-early type: the vegetative period is 270–280 days, and plant height is 95–105 cm. The grain has a red color, oval shape, and is large; 1000-grain mass ranges from 46.5 to 50.4 g.

Key characteristics of «Yunika» include high resistance to adverse biotic and abiotic factors: lodging (8–9 points), shattering (9 points), and sprouting on stubble (9 points). The variety also demonstrates excellent frost-winter hardiness (8–9 points) and high drought-heat tolerance (9 points). Field resistance to major diseases is rated in the range of 7–9 points. The grain contains 12.0–14.4% protein, 28.5–34.4% gluten, and flour strength is 445–480 WBU, ensuring good loaf volume (1480–1620 cm³ from 100 g of flour).

The «Yunika» variety adapts easily to various agro-conditions: it shows high yield on both low and high fertility soils, as well as under non-clover predecessors. Agronomic requirements are minimal – the variety is insensitive to sowing dates and responds well to standard fertilizer practices. Due to its universality and resistance, it is the preferred choice for farmers seeking to ensure a stable yield under diverse climatic and soil conditions.
