Technological features of Anzio wheat cultivation

A 2025 breeding novelty from the Italian company APSOVSEMENTI S.P.A., this complex hybrid is adapted to a wide range of soil and climatic conditions in Ukraine. Due to its genetic plasticity, the variety demonstrates stable productivity in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissya zones.

Agrotechnical recommendations

• Sowing dates: Optimal timing follows regional standards for winter wheat. It is crucial to consider soil temperature: sowing should be carried out when the average daily temperature drops to +12...+14°C to prevent the crop from overgrowing in the autumn.
• Seeding rate and spacing: Given its status as a complex hybrid, Anzio requires precise adherence to plant density. The recommended scheme is standard row sowing with 15 cm spacing. The seeding rate should be adjusted based on sowing dates and soil moisture levels to ensure optimal tillering.
• Soil and nutrient requirements: The variety responds well to intensive cultivation technology. Best results are achieved on chernozems and sod-podzolic soils with a neutral pH. A key stage is split nitrogen application: the first top-dressing on frozen soil, and the second during the stem elongation phase to form a productive stand.
• Care by growth stages: During the tillering phase, it is critical to control weeds and pests. Fungicide protection is necessary during stem elongation and heading, as the complex hybrid actively builds vegetative mass, requiring the prevention of fungal diseases.

Anzio demonstrates high resistance to environmental stress factors; however, to realize its yield potential in the arid Steppe zones, it is recommended to minimize mechanical soil tillage to preserve moisture in the lower horizons.
