NOVOSIBIRSKAYA 15 is a soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety of early maturity type with a vegetative period of 67-74 days, which is 2-3 days faster than standard varieties. It belongs to the lutescens subspecies and is recommended for cultivation in the Urals, Western and Eastern Siberia, including the Altai Krai, Altai Republic, Novosibirsk, Tyumen, and Kurgan regions. The plants are characterized by a semi-erect culm, resistance to lodging, and medium drought tolerance, which allows for successful cultivation under various climatic conditions. The ear is cylindrical of medium density, the grain is ovoid and colored, the 1000-grain mass varies from 34 to 40 grams, which corresponds to the level of strong wheat. The variety demonstrates high yield indicators: in the West Siberian region, the average yield is about 25.8 c/ha, in the Urals – 28.5 c/ha, and in Novosibirsk region it reaches from 28 to 38 c/ha, which exceeds standard indicators by 1-3 c/ha. At the same time, the variety is distinguished by excellent drought tolerance and heat resistance, as well as resistance to infectious diseases, including bunt, moderate attack by brown rust and powdery mildew. Protein content in the grain reaches 18.4%, gluten – 39.2% with quality of Group 1, which ensures excellent baking properties and high overall flour quality rating. Practical application of the variety is confirmed by the successful experience of enterprises, where with a sowing rate of 220 kg/ha and the use of modern agro-technical methods, including fertilizer processing and plant protection agents, a significant economic effect and yield increase of up to 6 c/ha is achieved. The variety is registered and protected by a patent for a selection achievement, which confirms its selection value and reliability for agricultural production.
