Rye KWS Erebor

KWS Genetics for Intensive Farming

The hybrid rye "KWS Erebor" is the response from German breeders at KWS Lochow GmbH to the needs of farmers seeking not just yield, but stability in a changing climate. Registered in Ukraine in 2026, this F1 hybrid represents a new generation of the crop, focusing on maximizing ear potential while minimizing lodging risks.

Key Differences and Advantages

• Agronomic Efficiency: Unlike open-pollinated varieties, KWS Erebor demonstrates high crop uniformity, which is critical for even ripening and simplified harvesting.
• Resilience: The hybrid features enhanced immunity against major foliar diseases and ergot, allowing for reduced fungicide application without compromising grain quality.
• Product Quality: The grain is characterized by superior baking properties, making it a sought-after raw material for both the milling industry and high-quality feed production.

This hybrid is designed for farms practicing intensive cultivation technologies. Thanks to its genetically programmed ability for active tillering, KWS Erebor efficiently utilizes moisture and nutrients during early development stages, building a robust root system. For an agronomist, this translates into predictable results even under late sowing conditions or adverse weather during the spring regrowth period.
