ULYANOVSKAYA 105 — a soft spring wheat variety characterized by a medium-maturity type with a vegetative period ranging from 77 to 95 days. The plant is medium-tall, approximately 83 cm high, semi-upright, with a thick, hollow, and sturdy stem. The ear is pyramidal, of medium density, white in color, with short awn-like appendages. Leaves are dark green with a strong waxy coating on the ear and upper internode. The variety belongs to the Volga forest-steppe agro-ecological group and is distinguished by high lodging resistance; however, when planning yields exceeding 6 t/ha, growth regulators are recommended to maintain plant structure. ULYANOVSKAYA 105 exhibits high stability and drought tolerance, surpassing standard varieties by 1 point in drought resistance. The variety demonstrates high resistance to leaf diseases such as brown rust and powdery mildew, as well as to solid head smut. Infection levels on a natural background are approximately 6.7% for brown rust, 5.7% for powdery mildew, and 2.0% for solid head smut. Thanks to these qualities, the variety maintains an optimal homeostasis level even under extreme conditions, effectively utilizing precipitation in the second half of the vegetative period. In terms of yield, ULYANOVSKAYA 105 exceeds average regional standard indicators, reaching maximum values of up to 63.9 c/ha and a potential yield of 73.2 c/ha. The grain is characterized by high bulk weight (814 g/L) and vitreousness (91%), while protein and gluten content corresponds to valuable wheat varieties — averaging 13.6% protein and 31.1% gluten. These indicators make the variety attractive for the food industry and flour production. The variety is demanding on agro-conditions and cultivation conditions, with efficiency of cultivation significantly increasing upon improvement.
