An early-maturing variety with a heavy waxy bloom, effectively resisting drought and ensuring stable filling of large grains.
Description
Adaptability and Field Performance
Winter wheat "TR Shafranova" (registered in 2025) is a breeding product focused on stable grain production under the climatic instability of Ukraine. Due to its genetically determined early heading date, the variety effectively escapes peak June temperatures, which is critical for maintaining yield potential in the Steppe zone.
The morphological features of the variety indicate high field performance:
- Lodging Resistance: The erect growth habit and moderately filled straw provide a balanced plant architecture. Strong pubescence of the upper node and moderate waxy bloom on the straw reduce the risk of damage during sudden humidity fluctuations.
- Drought Tolerance: A heavy waxy bloom on the flag leaf and sheath serves as a key defense mechanism against transpiration. The long, large grain with a narrow shape indicates strong filling capacity even under limited moisture availability.
- Phytosanitary Profile: The weak pubescence of the inner and outer surfaces of the glumes, combined with the lanceolate shape of the glume, creates unfavorable conditions for pathogen accumulation.
The variety demonstrates excellent plasticity, being zoned for all three agro-climatic regions of Ukraine: Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissya. The pyramidal shape of the ear and its significant length, combined with long awns, facilitate efficient photosynthesis and uniform nutrient distribution during the grain-filling period.

Dual-purpose hybrids: for silage and grain in all growing regions. These are "stay-green" type hybrids, meaning the plants remain green for a longer period. However, this does not affect the sugar, cellulose, and hemicellulose content, nor the degree of lignification of the plant... |
