Agronomic Profile of "Filumen": Stability as a Priority

The 2024 Bulgarian breeding program introduces "Filumen" as a strategic response to recent climatic challenges. This complex hybrid of winter soft wheat is designed for high-quality food-grade grain production, combining an intensive yield potential of up to 11 t/ha with significant field resilience.

Field Performance: Stress Tolerance

The key advantage of "Filumen" is its adaptability. Under moisture deficit conditions, the hybrid demonstrates high drought tolerance, which is critical for the southern and central regions of Ukraine. The plant, reaching 85-95 cm in height, features a robust stem that effectively resists lodging even when filling heavy ears (the 1000-grain weight reaches 52 g).

• Winter Hardiness: A rating of 8-9 points ensures successful overwintering during sharp temperature fluctuations, minimizing the risk of crop thinning in spring.
• Phytosanitary Status: Genetic resistance to a complex of foliar diseases (powdery mildew, septoria, and rust) reduces the need for fungicide applications, allowing for optimized crop protection costs.

The medium-early maturity allows "Filumen" to avoid peak July temperatures, which positively impacts grain filling and maintains high quality standards. This makes the variety a reliable tool for farmers aiming for stable yields of food-grade wheat without unnecessary risks.
