SOLOMON is an ultra-early, bare-seeded grain sorghum variety of German selection, intended for cultivation in various regions, including the North Caucasian, Central Black Earth, Lower Volga, Middle Volga, Western Siberia, and Ural regions. This variety is characterized by good plant uniformity in terms of the height of the inflorescences, which are well-protruded, and the grain is large-grained and beige in color. Thanks to its adaptability, SOLOMON is suitable for cultivation even in northern regions, such as the Orenburg, Samara, and Saratov regions and the Altai Krai.
The variety is characterized by high yield with a potential of up to 6 t/ha and an average yield in Ukraine of about 34.7 c/ha. The vegetation period is about 88-93 days, which allows for an early harvest. The mass of 1000 grains is about 28-28.5 grams, indicating large-grainedness and high uniformity. SOLOMON has high resistance to lodging, shattering, and drought, and is also weakly affected by crown rust, powdery mildew, and flying head smut, which significantly reduces the risk of yield losses.
The grain yield reaches 98-100%, and the protein content averages 12.3%, making this variety attractive for the production of quality grain. The recommended seeding rate is about 200 kg/ha. The variety is in demand due to its reliability and high agronomic indicators, as well as its affordable seed price, making it a profitable choice for farmers seeking a stable and quality sorghum harvest.
