Registered in 2024, RGT CAPSUR is a complex hybrid of durum wheat (facultative type) developed by RAGT 2n. Designed for high performance, this hybrid is suitable for cultivation across all major agro-climatic zones of Ukraine: Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissya. Its primary advantage lies in its high adaptability to varying moisture levels and soil types.

Cultivation and Management Practices

• Sowing Strategy: As a facultative variety, RGT CAPSUR offers flexibility in planting dates. Whether sown in autumn or early spring, the key is to ensure optimal soil temperature (above +5°C) and sufficient moisture for uniform germination.
• Seeding Density: To maximize yield potential, a seeding rate of 4.5–5.5 million viable seeds per hectare is recommended, depending on the specific soil fertility and local climatic conditions.
• Nutrient Requirements: This hybrid responds exceptionally well to split nitrogen applications, particularly during the tillering and stem elongation stages. Maintaining a balanced supply of micronutrients is essential to ensure the high vitreousness required for durum wheat quality.
• Crop Protection: Intensive management is advised. Fungicide applications during the stem elongation and heading stages are critical to protect the flag leaf, which is vital for grain filling and disease resistance.
