Winter wheat Sultan

Czech genetic stability for modern grain production

Selgen’s breeding program is globally recognized for its focus on resilience and yield consistency. Winter wheat «Sultan» represents a practical solution for farmers looking to mitigate environmental risks. Designed for intensive cultivation, this variety excels in fields where management efficiency and yield predictability are top priorities.

Field performance and agronomic value

The choice of «Sultan» is driven by its robust performance across varying soil conditions. Practical advantages observed by farmers include:

• High Tillering Capacity: Ensures a productive crop stand even when sowing dates are pushed late, maximizing land use efficiency.
• Lodging Resistance: A crucial trait for growers applying intensive fertilizer programs to push yield potential without risking harvest losses.
• Winter Hardiness: Proven performance in regions with fluctuating temperatures, securing plant density from autumn through spring.

From a management perspective, «Sultan» reacts predictably to standard plant protection programs. Its genetic potential translates effectively into high grain quality, making it a reliable asset for planning grain sales and storage. For agronomists, this variety is a tool for maintaining a competitive edge in grain production by balancing inputs with consistent output.

Optimizing production costs

By opting for Selgen varieties, producers secure high-quality planting material with a track record of stability. «Sultan» simplifies operational planning, as its growth stages are well-defined, allowing for efficient timing of herbicide and fungicide applications. It is a rational choice for operations that prioritize ROI and operational reliability.
