Winter wheat LÉGUAŃ

Czech Breeding for Stable Yields

Spring wheat 'Leguan' from the Czech company Selgen is the choice for growers who prioritize predictability and technological performance. In conditions where winter crops may suffer from winter stresses or spring droughts, this variety serves as a reliable insurance tool for producing commercial grain with high quality parameters.

Agronomic Applications

The primary niche for 'Leguan' is intensive cultivation technology. The variety shows excellent responsiveness to mineral fertilizers, effectively converting nutrients into ear mass. Practical application of 'Leguan' is justified in the following scenarios:

• Reseeding: If winter crops have suffered after the winter, 'Leguan' allows for the quick recovery of fields while maintaining the economic efficiency of the crop rotation.
• Optimized Harvesting: The variety's maturation timeline helps manage machinery logistics, reducing peak loads during the harvest campaign.
• Quality Grain Production: The variety is traditionally valued for its stable vitreousness and high baking performance, which simplifies grain sales to processing enterprises.

Selgen breeding is focused on resilience to local climatic risks, resulting in high tillering capacity and the ability of the variety to maintain a productive stand even under moisture stress during critical growth stages.
