Spivanka Polissia is an intensive, semi-dwarf, winter soft wheat variety, recommended for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions of Ukraine. The variety is medium-maturing, ripening in 285 days, with plant height ranging from 76 to 87 cm, straw-colored stems that are thick, strong, and moderately filled. The kernels are red, egg-shaped, medium-sized, with a 1000-grain weight of 40-50 g.
This variety is characterized by high resistance to a complex of diseases, including powdery mildew, brown rust, leaf septoria, and fusarium head blight. It also exhibits high resistance to lodging, drought tolerance, and winter hardiness, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. Its frost resistance, under controlled conditions, is rated as medium.
The yield of Spivanka Polissia reaches 10.7 t/ha, with protein content around 14%, and gluten content of 30%. The milling and baking properties of the variety are good, with flour strength reaching 320 o.a., and bread volume up to 910 mm. These characteristics make the variety suitable for producing high-quality bread and other flour-based products.
