SY Invictus — a medium-early maize hybrid with a FAO index of 210, possessing a universal range of applications. This hybrid is suitable for grain, silage, and biogas production, making it a profitable choice for various agricultural tasks. Due to its adaptability, SY Invictus can be successfully grown in all climatic zones of Ukraine, including steppe, forest-steppe, and Polissia, expanding its applicability across different regions of the country.
The hybrid is characterized by high grain yield, which, according to 2022 results, ranges from 97 to 140 centners per hectare at seed moisture of 14%. The grain type is silicaceous, and its adaptability is medium-plastic, ensuring resistance to adverse factors. SY Invictus exhibits low susceptibility to major diseases, including stem and root rot, aerial smut, and other diseases. It tolerates cold early spring temperatures well and is not prone to lodging, as well as capable of enduring prolonged periods of water deficit, which is especially important for cultivation in steppe zones.
Early vegetative stages of this hybrid proceed with high growth vigor, promoting rapid formation of mature plants. Grain mass rapidly loses excess moisture during ripening, enhancing the economic efficiency of cultivation. SY Invictus also features a strong stalk, exceeding the stalk strength of the SY Rotango hybrid. Recommended planting density varies depending on soil moisture: 70–75 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture, 60–70 thousand under unstable conditions, and 50–60 thousand under insufficient moisture. Seed packaging contains 80 thousand seeds.
