SHARADA

Winter wheat hexaploid variety Sharada is a strong and medium-early variety of wheat developed by interspecific hybridization from spherical-seeded wheat and winter soft wheat. This variety is distinguished by high technological efficiency during processing, which allows obtaining flour and high-quality groats. The grain of the variety contains a significant amount of protein — from 14.2 to 18.5%, as well as high content of raw gluten — from 31 to 41%, which ensures improved baking properties and increased flour yield compared to soft wheat varieties.

Sharada is adapted for cultivation in dry climate conditions and is characterized by high resistance to lodging and heat tolerance. Plants reach a height of 65 to 89 cm, mass of 1000 grains varies from 28 to 37 g. Grain is easily threshed, which facilitates crop harvesting. The variety is moderately susceptible to brown rust and powdery mildew, but susceptible to hard head smut and septoria, which requires attention in agronomic measures.

Sharada is recommended for cultivation in regions with a dry climate, such as Krasnodar Krai, the Republic of Adygea, and the Prikubanskaya zone of the Rostov region. Yields of Sharada, Praskovya, and Yereyevna varieties reach 76.4–107.0 c/ha. Due to its qualities and high productivity, this variety is widely used for sowing for agronomic purposes, and also serves as an improver of weak wheats, improving the quality of the final product.
