Krynychanskyi 257 SV

Corn Krynychanskyi 257 SV is a three-line hybrid intended for grain, meal, and silage production. This medium-early variety was registered in 2008 and recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe regions of Ukraine. Plants reach a height of up to 250 cm, with the main ear attachment height ranging from 70-90 cm. The ear has a cylindrical shape, 21-27 cm long, with 14 or 16 rows of kernels, each containing approximately 39 kernels. The grain is yellow, cream-colored with toothed edges, round in shape, with a 1000-kernel weight of 250-270 g. The hybrid exhibits very good drought tolerance, promoting efficient maturation and harvest. Krynychanskyi 257 SV is characterized by high potential yield: grain can reach 117-123 ц/га, while silage mass can reach 600-670 ц/га. The hybrid possesses high resistance to lodging (9 points), cold tolerance (8 points), and drought resistance (9 points), ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions. Additionally, the variety shows tolerance to major corn diseases, including common and late blights, root and stalk rots, rust, helminthosporiosis, and fusarium, all rated at 9 points for resistance. The hybrid is well-adapted to different cultivation zones: recommended planting density varies from 70,000 to 90,000 plants per hectare depending on the region — from Polissia to Steppe. Krynychanskyi 257 SV features a strong root system and rapid early growth, enhancing its resistance to lodging and drought. It positively responds to mineral fertilizer application and can successfully grow under dense plantings, making it a versatile and productive choice for agricultural production.
