Wheat Kalynovka

Technical Profile of «Kalynova» Winter Wheat

Developed by the Mironovsky Wheat Institute named after V.M. Remeslo, this soft winter wheat variety is engineered for yield stability across various climatic zones of Ukraine. The genetic foundation of the variety relies on high resilience to temperature fluctuations and an intensive tillering capacity.

Agronomic and Structural Parameters

• Growth Habit: Winter type, characterized by balanced photoperiod sensitivity that allows the crop to effectively utilize early spring moisture.
• Morphostructure: The stem exhibits high mechanical stiffness, a critical feature for preventing lodging, particularly in high-input farming systems using significant nitrogen fertilization.
• Consistency: The variety shows high crop uniformity, which optimizes combine harvester settings and reduces grain loss during harvesting operations.

The technical advantage of «Kalynova» lies in the efficient partitioning of nutrients between vegetative biomass and grain filling. Mironovsky's breeding philosophy focuses on producing «working» varieties that can realize their genetic potential not only in ideal soil conditions but also under moisture stress. Practical application of this variety requires precise nitrogen management, as it is highly responsive to intensive cultivation technologies. Furthermore, its inherent resistance to major fungal diseases reduces the necessity for multiple fungicide applications, thereby improving the cost-per-hectare efficiency for producers.
