NADIRA

Nadira is a soft spring wheat variety with a unique purple grain color caused by high anthocyanin content, which gives the grain high antioxidant activity. This variety is the first purple-grained one in Russia and was bred using traditional breeding and biofortification methods. Nadira differs with a medium-maturing vegetative period of 72 to 83 days and a mass of 1000 grains within 32-38 grams, which ensures a good yield potential reaching more than 5.5 tons per hectare.

The variety possesses high resistance to lodging and solid head smut, as well as medium susceptibility to brown rust and powdery mildew. Meanwhile, weak susceptibility to septoria and high field resistance to powdery bunt are noted. Nadira is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the Volga-Vyatsky, Middle Volga, and Ural regions, and is suitable for organic farming.

Due to its unique properties, Nadira wheat is widely used in the food industry. Bread and pasta made from whole grain flour, as well as cereals such as wheat and bulgur, and flakes are produced from it. High antioxidant content makes this variety especially valuable for healthy eating, and good dough rheological properties and positive baking assessment confirm its technological suitability.
