Maize HOPPER 255 MV

Corn HOPPER 255 MV is a medium-early three-line hybrid with FAO maturity group 270, corresponding to a vegetative period of about 106 days. This hybrid belongs to the dent type of kernel with intermediate structure, closer to horny, and features orange-yellow kernel color. The plant is tall with wide leaves, strong stalk, and long medium-thickness ear, which forms multiple rows of kernels. A distinctive feature of the hybrid is weak anthocyanic coloring of various plant parts, indicating its resistance and adaptability to growing conditions. HOPPER 255 MV exhibits high yield, reaching 13.2 t/ha on variety trial plots, exceeding average values for this maturity group. The average grain yield in the region was 36.5 c/ha with grain moisture around 23.4%, which is lower than standard values, facilitating storage and processing. The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to lodging, rust, and root rot, ensuring stable yields even under adverse conditions. Recommended planting density is 65-70 thousand plants per hectare under sufficient moisture and 60-65 thousand under unstable conditions. Corn seeds of HOPPER 255 MV are treated with fungicides and insecticides, enhancing their protection against diseases and pests in early growth stages. The hybrid is characterized by high plasticity and does not require special growing conditions, making it attractive for various agroclimatic zones. Due to its strong stalk, dense ears, and optimal grain moisture at harvest, this hybrid ensures high efficiency in grain corn production.
