Description NS 1090
NS 1090 — an early-maturing corn hybrid developed based on a fertile maternal line. This hybrid is characterized by high yield and can be grown for grain or silage depending on the region. The genetic potential for grain yield reaches up to 110 centners per hectare, equivalent to over 10 tons of dry grain per hectare. The plant reaches a height of approximately 210 cm and exhibits high drought and lodging resistance, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. The ear of NS 1090 is cylindrical to slightly conical, up to 25 cm long, with 14 rows of yellow-orange kernels. The grain is semi-pear-shaped, standard quality, with a 1000-kernel weight of about 250 g. The hybrid features good dry-down at maturity, facilitating harvest and reducing yield losses. To achieve optimal yield, recommended plant population is approximately 80,000 plants per hectare under adequate moisture, and around 65,000 plants per hectare in dry conditions. When grown for silage, plant density should be increased by 10–15% to maximize green mass yield. The hybrid’s stalk is elastic and resistant to breakage, contributing to yield retention under adverse weather conditions. NS 1090 is a highly efficient and adaptable hybrid, suitable for various agronomic conditions and ensuring stable yield performance.
