Wheat Futurum

Optimizing Yield with French Genetics from Secobra

The winter wheat variety "Futurum," developed by the French company Secobra Recherches S.A.S, is designed for producers who prioritize high-yield stability through natural genetic resistance. In modern farming, where fungal pathogens often develop resistance to common pesticides, selecting a variety with robust biological protection is key to maintaining profitability.

Field Performance and Pathogen Resistance

The main advantage of "Futurum" is its comprehensive resistance profile, which allows farmers to manage risks effectively and potentially reduce the intensity of fungicide applications. The variety is specifically bred to combat:

• Root rots and Fusarium head blight: Securing the plant's foundation and grain quality, which is critical for meeting food-grade standards.
• Rusts (Brown and Stem): Maintains leaf area integrity through the critical grain-filling phase, preventing premature senescence.
• Foliar diseases (Septoria, Mycospaerella, Powdery Mildew): High tolerance limits the impact of these diseases, allowing for a more flexible and efficient spraying schedule.

Practical Application for Your Farm

As a beardless (awnless) winter wheat variety, "Futurum" is highly compatible with standard harvesting operations, ensuring clean and efficient processing. It is engineered for intensive cultivation programs where moisture levels often fluctuate, and the pressure from fungal diseases is high. By responding well to split nitrogen applications, this variety converts input costs into a predictable harvest with strong bread-making qualities.

Choosing "Futurum" from Secobra means choosing security. Whether you are managing fields with heavy infection cycles or seeking a variety that can handle diverse soil conditions without losing its yield potential, this French-bred wheat provides a solid technological foundation for your crop rotation. It remains one of the most reliable options for ensuring consistent output in challenging seasonal conditions.
