Maize VORONEZH 220 SV

Corn VORONEZH 220 SV is a medium-early, three-row hybrid of universal purpose, intended for cultivation both as grain and for silage. Plants are tall, reaching heights from 250 to 285 cm, with ear attachment at 95-110 cm. Ears have medium size, with 14-16 rows of kernels and about 29 kernels per row, yielding a total kernel count per ear of 406 to 464. Kernels are yellow-orange, cream-serrate type, with 1000-kernel weight ranging from 270 to 300 g. The hybrid exhibits good pollen production and medium-sized tassel with moderate side branches. One of the key advantages of VORONEZH 220 SV is its high resistance to adverse factors. The hybrid demonstrates good cold tolerance, drought resistance, and lodging resistance, confirmed by resistance ratings of 8 points for various diseases and stress factors, including helminthosporiosis, fusarium, downy mildew, as well as damage from corn stem borer and stem rot. These qualities make it a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions, especially in the Central Chernozem and Lower Volga regions, where average grain yields reach 78.1 and 57 centners per hectare, respectively, with potential yields reaching up to 135 centners per hectare. Agronomic recommendations include optimal planting density, which varies by region: 65-80 thousand plants per hectare for forest-steppe, 60-70 thousand for steppe, and 80-90 thousand plants per hectare for meadow-steppe. High adaptability and universality of the hybrid allow its effective use both for obtaining quality grain and for silage preparation, making VORONEZH 220 SV an attractive choice for farmers seeking stable and high yields.
