Wheat Lirica Bilotserkivska

Focus on Stability and Agrotechnology

Winter soft wheat 'Lyryka Biloretskivska' is a strategic choice for farmers aiming for predictable results in moderate-intensity farming conditions. Developed by the Bila Tserkva Research Station, this variety showcases the key traits essential for minimizing risks in cereal production.

Biological Potential and Field Performance

The plant is characterized by its compact stature, with a stem height of 70–80 cm. This morphology ensures high lodging resistance, simplifying harvesting and reducing grain losses even under adverse weather conditions during the ripening stage. A stand density of 4.5–5.0 million productive stems per hectare ensures optimal grain formation without putting excessive stress on soil moisture reserves.

Phytosanitary Defense

The practical value of 'Lyryka' lies in its strong genetic resistance to common diseases that often cause significant yield losses:

• Brown rust: High resistance minimizes the risk of rapid outbreaks.
• Septoria: Strong tolerance allows for potential reductions in fungicide application intensity.
• Powdery mildew: Robust defense mechanisms work effectively even in high humidity and dense crop stands.

Economic Efficiency

With a yield potential ranging from 4 to 9 tonnes per hectare, 'Lyryka' is highly adaptable to both extensive farming practices (basic care, 4–5 t/ha) and intensive nutrition and crop protection programs (8–9 t/ha). This versatility makes it an excellent tool for crop rotation, allowing producers to manage grain production costs effectively based on market demand and specific local conditions.
