Wheat Boguslavka Odeska

Stable Yields in Challenging Conditions

Bohuslavka Odeska winter soft wheat is the choice for those who value predictability. Developed by the Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute (Odesa), this variety is adapted to Ukrainian conditions where drought and fungal outbreaks can destroy yield potential in a single season.

Agronomic Performance

In the field, this variety is highly manageable. It does not require extreme fungicide expenditures, as it possesses genetically inherent tolerance to key pathogens. The list of resistant diseases includes leaf rust, septoria, fusarium head blight, and powdery mildew. This allows for flexible spraying schedules and reduced pesticide costs without compromising grain quality.

Yield Efficiency

• Yield potential: 8-9 tonnes per hectare under optimal management.
• Wheat type: soft wheat, ensuring high baking quality.
• Development type: winter, demonstrating excellent winter hardiness.

Bohuslavka Odeska exhibits high plasticity. It recovers quickly after winter and effectively utilizes moisture accumulated during the autumn-winter period. For an agronomist, this translates into hitting projected yields even against the backdrop of a changing climate. The variety is not prone to lodging, which simplifies harvest logistics: combine headers operate smoothly, and grain loss is kept to a minimum.
