ALAYA ZARYA

Soft winter wheat of the Alaya Zarya variety is a mid-early and medium-height variety intended for cultivation in the Central-Black Earth region, in particular in the Voronezh region. The vegetation period ranges from 263 to 306 days, ensuring stable plant development under various climatic conditions. The variety is characterized by good winter hardiness at the level of the standard and drought resistance that matches or exceeds standard indicators. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 38 to 47 grams, indicating high grain quality and its suitability for baking production.

Morphologically, Alaya Zarya is characterized by a semi-erect bush with a horizontally located or drooping flag leaf. The ear is cylindrical, loose of medium density, red, awnless and short-medium length. The grain is red, oval-egg-shaped with a shallow groove. A feature of the variety is the ability to form a black-edged ear glume in years atypical for weather conditions, which gives the ear a dark color. Under normal conditions, the ear glume retains the typical red color.

The Alaya Zarya variety was bred by the method of individual selection and possesses good disease resistance, which contributes to high yields — on average 38.4 centners per hectare in the region. It is ideal for flour and bread production thanks to its good baking qualities. The recommended agronomy corresponds to generally accepted methods for the Central-Black Earth region, with a sowing rate of 4.5–5.0 million viable seeds per hectare depending on the predecessor.
