Winter wheat ALANA

Czech genetics for high-yield farming

The winter wheat variety "Alana" from the Czech company Selgen is the result of long-term European breeding programs aimed at combining high productivity with resilience to challenging climatic conditions. Selgen is known for focusing on intensive cultivation types, and "Alana" is a prime example of how a crop's genetic potential can be fully realized through precise nutrient management and crop protection.

Market Positioning

Today, "Alana" occupies a strong niche for farms focused on high-quality grain production. Thanks to its inherent plasticity, this variety is highly sought after in regions with variable moisture levels. In field conditions, "Alana" demonstrates excellent lodging resistance, which is critical for intensive farming technologies where plants receive significant nitrogen inputs.

Key Agronomic Features

• Development type: Winter wheat, adapted to rigorous European winter hardiness standards.
• Intensive potential: The variety responds well to fertilization and requires strict adherence to planting windows for optimal tillering.
• Stability: Czech varieties from Selgen are known for their uniform crop stands, which simplifies field management and harvesting operations.

Choosing "Alana" is a strategic decision for growers seeking a balance between biological yield potential and ease of management. While the variety does not require unique conditions, it performs at its peak when disease control protocols for the spike and foliage are followed. For agricultural enterprises, this provides a reliable tool for establishing a stable feed base or producing commercial-grade grain with superior milling characteristics.
