Pea Steppe Gift

Field performance: why operators prefer this variety

When it comes to industrial pea production, success depends as much on field behavior as on yield. The "Darunok Stepu" variety, developed by the Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute, is engineered for direct harvesting. For a combine operator, this translates to minimal lodging issues and a clean hopper free from excess debris.

Operational advantages

• Harvesting without surprises: The variety shows excellent suitability for direct cutting. Its stems are resistant to lodging, allowing the header to be set at the optimal height to minimize grain loss during cutting.
• Technological efficiency: With its determinate growth habit, the crop matures uniformly. This allows for precise scheduling of field machinery, preventing equipment downtime and maximizing efficiency.
• Grain-focused: The plant's energy is channeled into producing high-quality, full-bodied grain, simplifying logistics and storage operations.

Agronomists working with this variety highlight its adaptability to the Ukrainian steppe climate. By minimizing variability during the growing season, it provides consistent results on the scales. Its high level of technological consistency allows machine operators to maintain high hectares-per-shift rates without needing constant adjustments to harvesting equipment due to crop unevenness.
