Description Toporivsky / Toporivskyi
Greece nut variety Toporovsky — a Ukrainian selection developed in 1995 at the Transnistrian Fruit and Vegetable Experimental Station. This tall tree has a large, round, spreading crown, characterized by high, stable yields and self-fertility. Fruiting occurs on terminal buds, resulting in medium-sized nuts weighing 10.6 to 15 grams, elongated-oval or elliptical in shape. The shell is thin and strong, easily splits open, and the internal partitions are thin, facilitating the separation of light, sweet kernels with excellent flavor. The kernel yield is 49 to 54% of the nut mass.

The Toporovsky variety exhibits high frost resistance and resistance to brown spot disease (Marsoniosis), enabling cultivation in various climatic conditions across Ukraine. Frost and drought resistance are at a high level, making this variety reliable for both personal and industrial cultivation. Fruit ripening occurs at the end of September, allowing for harvest at optimal times.

The yield of a mature tree reaches approximately 68-70 kg, and by the 7th-8th year after planting — 9-10.5 kg per tree. The nut kernel contains significant amounts of fats (68.67-74.85%), proteins (11.77-13.98%), sugars (7.66-13.22%), as well as organic acids, tannins, pectins, and vitamin C, making it not only delicious but also nutritious. The Toporovsky variety is ideal for cultivation in any region and is an excellent choice for both personal use and commercial production.
