Walnut variety "Loved by Petrotsyana" – the result of joint work by A.A. Petrotsyana and G.A. Antonenko at the North-Caucasus Regional Research Institute of Horticulture and Viticulture. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth, round-to-spherical crowns, and apical fruiting type. At 16 years old, the tree reaches a height of 9.5 m and a diameter of up to 9.5 m, making it a fast-growing and large-scale object for commercial cultivation.
The variety's fruits have an elongated shape and weigh about 11.8 g. The shell is thin (0.7–0.9 mm) and not very strong, but easily separates from the kernel, which accounts for 63.3% of the nut's mass. The kernel is high-oil content – the fat content is 71.4%. The internal partitions are thin, allowing the kernel to be extracted whole or in halves without damage. Taste qualities are excellent: oily taste and aroma make the nuts popular among consumers.
The variety differs in good drought resistance and moderate resistance to brown spot, but winter hardiness is not high enough. Yield varies from 0.2 kg/m² to 2.4 t/ha depending on growing conditions. The harvesting period begins in the third decade of September and can last more than a year with proper storage. Due to the high content of vitamin C (5.43 mg/100 g) and rutin (47.2 mg/100 g), the nuts have health benefits.
