Common walnut Klishkovskiy

Technical Profile and Performance

The 'Klishkovsky' walnut variety is a selection characterized by high growth vigor and focused biological stability. It is designed for both commercial orchards and intensive private cultivation, where predictable yield and harvest quality are the primary objectives.

Fruit Biometry and Industrial Characteristics

• Nut Weight: 12.0–13.0 grams, providing a consistent grade for market standard requirements.
• Shape: Elliptical, which aids in handling and mechanized processing.
• Shell Thickness: 1.0–1.2 mm. This is a critical technical advantage: it is thin enough to allow for efficient shelling while maintaining sufficient structural integrity to protect the kernel during transportation and storage.

Resilience and Agrotechnical Advantages

A standout feature of 'Klishkovsky' is its genetic resistance to Marssonina leaf spot (Marssonios). In walnut production, this fungal disease is a major limiting factor that often causes significant yield loss and leaf senescence. The built-in immunity of this variety allows for a reduction in fungicide applications, making it an excellent candidate for integrated crop management programs.

As a vigorous (fast-growing) cultivar, 'Klishkovsky' requires careful site selection. The tree’s growth rate demands sufficient spacing to ensure proper canopy airflow and light penetration. When provided with adequate room for root development and crown expansion, the variety consistently achieves its genetic potential in terms of both fruit quality and overall yield longevity.
