'Timofey' Walnut: Moldovan Selection for Modern Orchards

The 'Timofey' walnut variety, developed by S.C. Amg-kernel Crl, represents a significant achievement in Moldovan breeding, specifically tailored for the needs of intensive agriculture. Unlike traditional, towering walnut varieties, 'Timofey' is characterized by moderate vigor, making it a highly desirable candidate for commercial plantations.

Agronomic Profile

The tree typically reaches a height of 5–7 meters. This manageable size is a critical advantage, significantly simplifying crown maintenance, pruning processes, and harvesting. The moderate growth habit allows for higher planting density, maximizing the yield per hectare without compromising the quality of the nuts.

Why Choose 'Timofey'?

• Cost Efficiency: Reduced tree height lowers the costs associated with pest control and allows for more effective mechanization during harvest.
• Proven Genetics: Developed by S.C. Amg-kernel Crl, this variety benefits from a breeding program focused on resilience and consistent productivity under varying climatic conditions.
• Marketable Quality: 'Timofey' is bred to produce high-quality kernels that meet international export standards, ensuring a strong position in the market.

For agricultural producers planning a long-term orchard investment, 'Timofey' offers a balanced solution between predictable growth and economic output. It is particularly well-suited for those looking to modernize their production cycles while maintaining the robust performance expected from professional-grade planting material. S.C. Amg-kernel Crl has successfully engineered a tree that requires less vertical space but delivers steady, high-value harvests.
