Description Zagrava
Zagraya grape is a table-hybrid variety developed by Ukrainian selection at the Institute of Viticulture and Enology named after Tairnov through crossing the varieties Kobzar and Original. This medium-late maturing variety ripens within 135-145 days and features vigorous vines with a massive trunk and strong, slender branches. Leaves are large, dark green with yellow veins and serrated edges. Flowers are perfect, promoting good pollination and fruit set. Bunches are large, conical, medium density, weighing 600 to 900 grams or more. Berries are very large, measuring 34-35 by 23-25 mm, elongated-oval or slightly pear-shaped, white-pink in color with vibrant hue. Flesh is juicy, slightly crisp, with a pleasant balanced flavor, and the skin is edible. Berry shriveling is practically absent, enhancing fruit appearance. Yield is high, with 30-40 buds per vine and pruning canes to 6-8 buds. To enhance berry color intensity, it is recommended to thin leaves around bunches and avoid excessive shoot density. Zagraya exhibits good cold resistance up to -21…-22°C and resistance to major fungal diseases such as mildew, oidium, and gray mold at level 3, which is above average. The variety features high transportability and fruit quality, making it suitable for commercial cultivation. Despite moderate damage from wasps, the grapes retain their quality characteristics and attractive appearance.
