Description

Kobzar grape variety is early-mid-season ripening, reaching maturity at the end of August to the beginning of September. The vines of this variety are vigorous with well-developed root systems, ensuring their resilience and high productivity. The clusters of Kobzar are large and very large, weighing from 600 to 900 grams and more, have a conical shape, and can be loose or medium-dense. The berries are large, oval or elongated, white or pale-green in color, measuring about 27x23 mm, with firm, crisp flesh and a harmonious sweet taste. The variety is characterized by high sugar content — from 19 to 23%, and acidity of 4-6 g/l, with the balance tilting towards sweetness at full maturity. Kobzar has good fruit marketability and transportability, making it attractive for commercial cultivation. Shoots mature almost the entire length of growth, and the fruiting coefficient is 0.8-1.2 clusters per shoot. To maintain high-quality yields, it is recommended to regulate flowering or young clusters to avoid overloading the vines. Cuttings root well, and seedlings begin fruiting early. The Kobzar variety has moderate winter hardiness and increased resistance to diseases such as mildew and oidium. However, under sharp fluctuations in soil moisture and during rainy, humid weather, berries may crack and rot, requiring careful care and control of growing conditions. Due to its characteristics and the selection work of Ukrainian specialists, this grape variety is popular among gardeners who value early ripening, high yield, and excellent berry flavor.
