The «Swan's Song» variety is a high-yielding winter wheat registered in the National Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2003. Medium-sized, round, dark grey seeds with a smooth, matte surface contain high protein (21.3%) and fiber (24.9%) content. Due to improved fodder mass quality and low seed hardiness, «Swan's Song» ensures good germination and stable growth even under unfavorable climatic conditions.
The variety is characterized by high yield – up to 35 centners per hectare – and a maturity period of 230 to 250 days. It grows well on various soil types, including fertile and medium-fertility soils, and is resistant to drought, fungal diseases, and pests. Thanks to its winter hardiness, «Swan's Song» is suitable for cultivation in the central belt of Ukraine and Russia, where climatic conditions may be severe.
When sown with winter rye, the variety is suitable for dual use: the first pass – for green fodder (up to 448 c/ha), the second – for grain (approx. 6.11 c/ha). This makes it particularly valuable in agro-technical schemes requiring maximum output from a single plot. The variety is resistant to adverse external conditions and slightly susceptible to diseases, ensuring a stable yield even with unpredictable weather.
