Vetch Burshtin

Field Performance of «Burshtyn» Vetch

«Burshtyn» vetch, developed by the ISGP NAAS, is a reliable grain legume that simplifies crop management for the operator. Its performance in the field is consistent, allowing for efficient planning of machinery use from sowing to harvest.

Operational Guidelines

• Sowing: The seed size is optimized for standard grain drills. Setting the correct seeding depth ensures uniform germination and high seedling vigor, even under variable spring weather conditions.
• Crop Maintenance: The crop is robust and responds well to standard weed control practices during the early growth stages. It does not require specialized equipment, fitting perfectly into the existing fleet of grain machinery.
• Harvesting Efficiency: The variety exhibits strong lodging resistance, which significantly reduces yield loss during direct combine harvesting. Proper adjustment of the threshing concave and fan speed ensures a clean sample with minimal seed cracking.

For the farm manager, «Burshtyn» represents an efficient investment. The seeding rate is predictable, ensuring cost-effectiveness without unnecessary material waste. As an excellent nitrogen-fixing crop, it improves soil structure, making field preparation for the next rotation cycle notably easier and less fuel-intensive.
