Argon – a rare resource mined in the Abyss, found as enemy damage and in mission containers. Each crystal can be in a stable or unstable state. At 00:00 GMT, two events occur: the number of decaying crystals is halved (rounded up), and all stable ones transition to a decaying state, after which they disappear from the inventory after a few days.
Argon crystals can be obtained not only from enemies and crates but also collected using Extractors. Additionally, it drops from a destructible object – the Argon Pegmatite, which appears on the mini-map as a resource; destroying it yields 1–2 crystals.
Argon is used in research and crafting various components: Warframe and Sentient parts, weapons, alloys, resources for Dropship ships and Orbiter Segments. Chemically, argon is an inert single-atom gas with no color, taste, or smell; at -189.4 °C it crystallizes, explaining the unique decay mechanics in the game.
