Vetch Belotserkovskaya 222

Yield Stability: Technical Overview of Vetch «Belotserkovskaya 222»

The «Belotserkovskaya 222» vetch variety, developed by the Білоцерківська ДСС ім. О.К. Коломієць, is a classic legume cultivar focused on producing stable green mass and grain yields under Ukrainian climatic conditions. A key feature of this variety is its morphological adaptability: with a plant height ranging from 80 to 120 cm, the crop shows high competitive strength against weeds, which is crucial during the early stages of vegetation.

Agronomic Solutions and Morphology

• Stem Architecture: The height of 80–120 cm allows for the efficient use of equipment for continuous sowing, ensuring uniform maturation of the pod layers. The optimal stem length minimizes the risk of lodging during heavy precipitation.
• Resource Utilization: As a typical legume, «Belotserkovskaya 222» acts as a powerful tool for nitrogen fixation. The plant’s root system works efficiently in symbiosis with nodule bacteria, making it an excellent crop in a rotation that enriches the soil with organic nitrogen.
• Harvesting Technology: The uniformity of the stand simplifies combine header settings, reducing losses during harvesting. Given the height range, the variety shows predictable drying dynamics in windrows or during direct combining.

The practical value of «Belotserkovskaya 222» lies in its selection focus on reliability. In conditions of moisture deficit or unstable temperature regimes, the variety demonstrates resilience, providing farms with a consistent fodder resource. This is a choice for agronomists who prioritize predictable results and risk minimization over aggressive yields.
